Services

Handyman services: the big friendly checklist.

Here is what we do every week around the Grand Valley, with honest typical times. Prices are labor at our flat hourly rate — materials are extra, at cost, with receipts.

Times are typical, not promises — old houses have opinions.

Project examples

Before and after: typical small jobs

Example write-ups that show the kind of work we do. Photos are illustrations, not pictures of a specific customer's home.

  • Handyman tightening a new post on a wooden deck railing with the mountains in the background

    Wobbly deck railing

    Before
One loose post had the whole railing swaying whenever someone leaned on it.
    What we did
Added blocking and structural screws at the post, then checked and tightened every baluster.
    Typical time
    About 2 hours
  • Handyman brushing fresh paint onto door trim, floor covered with a drop cloth

    Scuffed door trim

    Before
Years of bumps and scuffs had worn through the paint on a busy hallway door frame.
    What we did
Light sanding, fresh caulk at the joints and two coats of semi-gloss, with drop cloths down.
    Typical time
    About 1.5 hours per door
  • New cedar pickets going up on a backyard fence, the broken old boards stacked on the lawn

    Storm-tossed fence

    Before
Spring wind snapped a run of pickets and left the gate dragging on the ground.
    What we did
Replaced the broken pickets, squared the gate and fitted a new self-closing latch.
    Typical time
    About 1.5 hours
