Bug Out Communicator
by Streetwise Software Online · SWSO
An encrypted push-to-talk walkie-talkie for your Mac. Hold the space bar to talk. Every channel has its own key, it works over the internet or with nearby devices and no internet at all, and SOS sends your location to everyone on the channel.
Talk, privately
- Hold SPACE or the big button to talk
- Every channel has its own 256-bit key; invite people with a QR code or link
- Over the internet through a relay you run, or nearby with no internet
New in 1.1: Mini mode and open at login
- Mini mode: a small round chrome panel that floats on top, with the channel, online status, LAN / Relay / Nearby lights, a big round Push to Talk button, who is talking, the last text and a quick text box
- Open it with the Mini button, Shift-Command-M or the menu bar icon; drag it anywhere and it remembers where you left it
- Open at login (off until you turn it on), and start in Mini mode after you log in
- Keeps listening when you close the window: voices play and texts and SOS alarms still arrive. A menu bar antenna icon has Show Main Window, Mini Mode, Mute Incoming and Quit
What it does
SOS
- Lift the cover and press: sends your location and sounds an alarm on every device
- Silent SOS
- A check-in timer that sends an SOS if you miss a check-in
Extras
- Voice scrambler: Deep, High, Robot, Alien or Shadow
- Music button plays Junction Underground Radio and pauses when someone talks
