Questions from nearby anglers

Is there a fly shop near me in Grand Junction?

Yes. Bookcliff Outfitters & Fly Shop is at 2475 North Ave in Grand Junction, open seven days a week with early hours from April through October. It's an easy stop on the way to the Colorado River, Grand Mesa or the Gunnison.

Where can I find fly fishing guides near Grand Junction?

We run float trips on the Colorado River through Ruby–Horsethief Canyon, the Gunnison Gorge and the Lower Gunnison, plus walk-and-wade days on the Grand Mesa lakes. Send a trip request or call the shop to check dates.

I've never fly fished. Is a guided float trip okay for beginners?

Yes. Your guide teaches casting, mending and setting the hook as you go, and a drift boat is an easy place to learn. The three-hour Intro to Fly Fishing Clinic is another good first step.

Can I buy a Colorado fishing or hunting license near me?

Licenses are sold online by Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and every angler 16 and older needs one. Stop by the counter and we'll help you choose the right license, explain local regulations and point you to the right game management unit.

Do you rent fishing gear in Grand Junction?

Yes. We rent rod and reel outfits, waders and boots, float tubes, spotting scopes and inflatable kayaks by the day or week. Reserve ahead in spring and fall.
