Bookcliff Outfitters & Fly Shop Book a Trip
Fly angler wading the Colorado River and casting a long loop of line through a red rock canyon at golden hour

Grand Junction fly shop, river guides & hunting outfitter Big rivers. Red rock. Wild trout.

We're the Grand Valley's independent fly shop and hunting outfitter: hand-tied flies, honest river reports, and guided drift-boat trips on the Colorado and Gunnison rivers, all from one timber-walled shop on North Avenue.

01 / The Shop

A real fly shop, not a big-box aisle.

Bookcliff Outfitters is built around one idea: you should leave the shop knowing exactly where to go, what to tie on, and how to fish it.

Ask us anything about the valley's water, from the slow seams below Palisade to the high lakes on Grand Mesa. We'd rather spend ten minutes at the map than sell you something you don't need.

03 / On the Water

Float the Gunnison with a guide on the oars.

A drift boat puts you in the middle of the river, where the big browns hold under the cut banks and the canyon walls do the talking. Your guide rows, reads the water and re-rigs. You fish.

  • Rods, flies and leaders included on every trip
  • Streamside lunch on full-day floats
  • One guide for every two anglers

04 / Hunting Country

Glass the Bookcliffs before first light.

When the cottonwoods turn, the shop turns orange. We stock the optics, archery gear and layers that work in this country, and we'll help you sort out draw results, unit maps and over-the-counter tags.
