Use this guide to organize the information and supplies that may be requested before a boarding stay.

Information to have ready

  • Owner contact information and an alternate emergency contact.
  • Horse name, age, identifying details and handling notes.
  • Veterinarian and farrier contact information.
  • Current feeding routine, supplements and medication instructions.
  • Relevant health records and any documents required by the facility.
  • Known behaviors, sensitivities or safety concerns.
  • Emergency treatment preferences and spending/contact instructions.

Items to confirm before arrival

  • What feed, supplements, tack, blankets or medications the owner must supply.
  • Arrival time and trailer access.
  • Visiting and owner-access expectations.
  • Written boarding agreement and liability-release requirements.
  • Current price, deposit and payment schedule.
